In today’s day and age, it’s all about perspective. The staff and seniors of Tapestry at Woodland Hills live by their positive outlook on life, so much so that it has earned them recognition among their competitors. The active 55+ community was presented with the Senior Community of the Year Award for 2016 at the Zenith Awards this last year. Applicants were required to submit a video to set their community apart from the rest.
Property Manager Paige Johnston headed up the project, using her iPhone to interview residents and staff giving testimonials about why they love living and working at Tapestry. She also showcased the complex through the video.
“We’re known for being a bright and happy community and I wanted to show that in this video,” said Paige. “Our staff truly cares about our residents, which is why we try to keep this community positive through being upbeat as a staff.”
The privately owned complex is geared toward the needs and preferences of today’s active seniors. The 140-unit apartment community opened in May of 2015 and offers its independent-living senior community amenities not previously available in Tulsa.  There are four floor plans providing the convenience, comfort and affordability to match different lifestyles and needs.  Each has a beautiful kitchen and full-size, stackable washer/dryer.  Continental Breakfast is served daily in an upscale bistro area, Monday-Saturday and features a delicious array of omelets, pastries, yogurt, granola, cereal and more.
“The people here are great,” said Paige. “Our owners are very hands-on, which is so rare in this business.”
Independent seniors enjoy numerous activities and amenities provided by the staff of Tapestry. From daily fitness classes, to potluck dinners to connect with neighbors, to movie nights in the upstairs theatre, residents will not be cheated out of things to do in this community. Other amenities include an elegant great room and lobby with a cozy, glowing fireplace, covered motor court arrival area, shuttle transportation, a bistro kitchen and wine bar, saltwater exercise pool, movie theatre, beauty salon and a well equipped fitness center.  The community is pet friendly and smoke free.  It has wi-fi and a complimentary business center, optional garages and storage areas and lovely individual wellness gardens where residents grow plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables. They are also well protected, with safe rooms in the facility in case of storms or power outages.
“When we had that big city-wide power outage in the summer, it was nice to know that we had a way to take care of our residents after hours,” Paige said.
Stop by Tapestry for a tour and become a part of the family today.
