Anderson Dental Arts in Broken Arrow is now offering one more reason to smile. Dr. Bret Anderson has teamed with Leslie McLaughlin of Beautiful Always to provide a permanent solution to everyday makeup problems.

Leslie, a licensed micropigmentologist, can safely, simply and permanently apply eyebrows, eyeliner, full lip color and lip liner that looks great all day and all night. Ladies can sleep, sweat, swim – even cry – and their eye and lip makeup will still be perfect, with no smudging or rubbing off. Blush and eye shadow are options as well.

“This really is the perfect solution for busy women who want to look their best all the time,” explains Leslie. “It’s also ideal for athletic women who perspire a lot, women with allergies to conventional makeup, or those with trouble seeing or gripping tools to apply makeup.” The procedure is simple and virtually pain free; some patients are so relaxed, they fall asleep.

Permanent eyebrows are one of Leslie’s most popular services. "Many of my clients are women in their 60s who have been drawing on their eyebrows since they were 13," she says. "When they look in the mirror after the permanent eyebrow procedure, many of them cry tears of joy. They no longer have to worry about an eyebrow melting off from sweat or rain."

Permanent eyeliner, eyebrows, lipstick and lipliner are perfectly applied by Leslie in a variety of color options, and never need to be touched up or redone. "You can work out, shower, walk outside in the rain - anything - and never have to worry about how you look."

Leslie credits her background as a public school art teacher for preparing her for her new career. Her work with color and highlights on still-life subjects earned several spots in local museums and art galleries. Now she has traded canvases for faces, but draws upon the same expertise to come up with just the right colors and application techniques to bring out each person’s best features.

In addition to applying permanent cosmetics, Leslie also camouflages scars. One patient had spent 50 years with a horrible scar that resulted from a split lip in a bicycle accident. In just a short time, Leslie was able to restore the natural skin coloring to the traumatized area so that it blended with the surrounding skin. “It was like a miracle for her,” she says. “Scar camouflaging literally changes people’s lives.”

Leslie's concern for helping people with scars grew out of a trip to Peru. "I was there to do teaching seminars, but when I got there, I saw bigger medical needs. There were so many scar victims with no way of fixing their scars." Since then, Leslie has worked with scar victims, cancer patients who have had reconstructive surgery, and patients with dog bites, burns and other injuries.

The permanent makeup artist most recently received advanced training in ethnic skin tones. These special skills are in preparation for her role with a medical team on a mission trip to Ecuador later this summer.

“I firmly believe in giving back and sharing my talent,” she says. “That’s another reason I am so honored to work with Dr. Anderson.” Besides maintaining practices in two communities, the honored Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry also provides dental service in the Air Force Reserve unit that he meets with once a month and goes on tour with each year.

Both Leslie and Dr. Anderson understand the art of making women look beautiful always. Leslie can give ladies something to smile about with permanent and perfect makeup, and Dr. Anderson can keep that smile looking great with perfectly straight, white teeth.
