Company owner Rick Vaughan has warehouse and fenced yard space to inventory the many products carried by Sawdust, Ltd.

Sawdust, Ltd. was founded 31 years ago, and Rick Vaughan has been the owner of the Broken Arrow-based company for 20 years. Rick has been in the deck and shade arbor (pergola) business since 1987, and his company today specializes in their design and construction. They also carry other outdoor products to enhance the time you spend in the outdoor living area of your home.

Sawdust, Ltd. is a founding member of the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA) and was selected to participate in the first service project for the organization in 2007. This annual project is known as “Deck for a Soldier,” and Vaughan organized the first effort for a U.S. soldier, who resides in Owasso. Sawdust, Ltd. was awarded the 2008 NADRA Builder of the Year Award.

According to Rick, “We design and build the highest quality decks and arbors with an attention to detail that is hard to find with other companies.” His goal is to design decks and arbors that provide an open-air oasis of relaxation and do not require constant maintenance.

The composite decking material the company uses is EverGrain by Tamko. GRK fasteners are part of the total package, and both product names are recognized for their quality and low maintenance requirements. EverGrain decking has been featured on HGTV and is designed for those who love the natural look of real wood, without the high maintenance requirements of wood decks. The product requires no staining or painting and is available in four beautiful standard colors that are sure to complement the colors of your home. There are also three additional colors available by special order.

The natural beauty of an EverGrain deck offers an impressive lasting grain created by an exclusive compression molding process. It features beautiful, deep colors and enhanced weathering characteristics.

Sawdust, Ltd. also designs custom shade arbors that are made of the highest-quality western red cedar. The standard arbor is constructed with 6” x 6” posts, 6” x 8” beams, 4” x 6” joists, and 4” x 4” shade bars. The result is a very appealing, long-lasting product. Rick will design, construct and install your arbor, or you may purchase an arbor kit. The package comes complete with all precut cedar materials, hardware and instructions for the do-it-yourselfer.

A popular item carried by Sawdust, Ltd. is Wood Defender, a wood-staining product manufactured by Standard Paints, Inc. It is made for use on fences, decks, siding, gazebos and playground equipment. There are three available stains, formulated to meet the specific needs of contractors.

Sawdust, Ltd. sells its products to contractors, landscape companies, lawn maintenance companies, outdoor contractors and homeowners. When you’re ready to beautify the outdoor living area of your home, give Rick a call. He would enjoy hearing from you and will answer any questions you may have about the products he designs, builds or sells.
