Miss America 2007, Lauren Nelson, will be the grand marshal for this year’s PSO Christmas Parade of Lights.

Downtown Tulsa Unlimited and the Public Service Company of Oklahoma are proud to announce the grand marshal for this year’s PSO Christmas Parade of Lights. Miss America 2007, Lauren Nelson, will serve in the honorary position at the event, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 8.

Nelson, a Lawton native, is serving as the official National Goodwill Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network. Part of this role includes raising funds and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network and for the Miss America Organization. She is also actively promoting her personal platform, “Be NetSmart – Protecting Kids Online.”

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to have another Miss America from Oklahoma serve as the grand marshal in the PSO Christmas Parade of Lights,” says Heather Pingry, director of promotions and communications for Downtown Tulsa Unlimited. “We are also fortunate to have the Public Service Company of Oklahoma as the presenting sponsor for the 18th year, which enables us to bring home a celebrity like Lauren Nelson for the parade.”
