Discount Mike’s New Location Now Open

Discount Mike’s extends an invitation to residents of Broken Arrow and surrounding communities to drop in and see the very latest in automotive servicing facilities.

Discount Mike’s Tire and Automotive was founded in 1989. Originally known as Eastside Tire & Auto, the business was founded by Leroy Richards and his partner, Vic Taylor. The two liked the people of the Broken Arrow community and thought it would be a nice place to start a business. The original business became a success because of the founders’ hard work, superior products and outstanding service. Taylor retired in 2002 and Richards retired in 2005. Mike and Patty Gauldin then took over the helm of the company and changed the name to Discount Mike’s Tire and Automotive. “We have literally built our business around the foundation on which it was started – the very finest customer service standards humanly possible,” says Mike.

Not only is Mike proud of the company’s 20-year tradition of extraordinary service, but also of Discount Mike’s ability to offer quality tires and automotive services at discounted prices. “Just as the name says,” adds Gauldin. Discount Mike’s carries tires by Bridgestone, Firestone and other well-known brand names.

Discount Mike’s brand-new facility, on which construction began earlier this year, is now open for business. The new location is on the northeast corner of 81st & Lynn Lane, across the street from Haskell Middle School. The parking lot has spaces for 41 vehicles.

The new shop is very spacious and loaded with windows to give the facility a customer-friendly atmosphere. The comfortable waiting lounge has windows allowing customers to see into the shop area so that they can watch the progress on their vehicles. The new lounge was designed to make the waiting process as pleasant and friendly as possible through the use of pleasing colors, comfortable furniture, and an assortment of vending machines and complimentary bottled water, a coffee bar and brewed tea. The lounge is also equipped with a flat screen TV, adding to the relaxing atmosphere throughout the new store.

When you bring your vehicle in for servicing or for new tires, you may wait in the lounge while work is performed, or if you wish, a Discount Mike’s employee will drive you home or to your place of employment while services are completed.

Part of the new building, the Hunter Power Bay, is actually designed for a leading-edge alignment system that will provide better, faster alignment service on vehicles. Customers are even able to view a monitor as technicians perform the alignment process.

One of the shop’s new lifts will facilitate any vehicle that is capable of being driven on the road – high performance sports cars, luxury cars, custom cars and trucks, duallies, and all domestic and foreign makes and models. “If it can be driven on the street, it can be driven onto Discount Mike’s new floor lift,” says Mike. One problem with standard lifts is that a car that sits low to the ground cannot be driven onto them without damaging the vehicle.

The technicians at Discount Mike’s are ASE certified, trained and qualified to run the state-of-the-art electronic equipment. Discount Mike’s is proud of its MODIS (Modular Diagnostic Information System) by Snap-On that enables technicians to quickly troubleshoot, pinpoint and diagnose today’s sophisticated vehicles. According to Mike, “It’s never been easier or faster to diagnose today’s high-tech vehicles.”
