Lead Servant Jonathan Schultz shows off some of the items available at Goodies Community Coffeehouse, a new coffee shop in partnership with Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bixby.

Goodies Community Coffeehouse is an undertaking in partnership with Lord of Life Lutheran Church. According to Lead Servant Jonathan Schultz, “This coffeehouse is a safe meeting place for youth and adults alike. We’re reaching out to our community and making many services available for little or no cost.”

Jonathan sees the Goodies clientele coming from three basic classifications. The first is the “Road Warrior.” This person may be looking for employment, or someone you see in restaurants or coffee shops working from their laptops.

The second group Jonathan calls the “Busy Bees.” These may be moms and dads that drop the kids off in the morning and then go to work out at the gym. Afterward they stop by for their morning cup of coffee and to relax.

Group three is what Jonathan calls the “Mobile Millennials.” This group is comprised of 13 to 25 year olds who enjoy a nice place to hang out with friends, where they can compete in Wii competitions and play PlayStation.

“At Goodies Community Coffeehouse, we offer a wide range of appealing activities, beverages, food items and commodities that will appeal to each group,” says Jonathan. The new center features espresso and specialty coffees, smoothies, tea selections, sandwiches, cookies and muffins at very attractive prices.

In addition, Goodies Community Coffeehouse is a place where parents can stop by for a cup of coffee and bring the kids with them. There is an enclosed play area that is safe, clean and comfortable, with cribs and changing tables.

You will find computer terminals in a relaxed business center, with other amenities such as cell phone charging stations, free laser and inkjet printing services, fax machines, a clean restroom, and work centers with plug-ins for portable computers. There are also areas equipped with WiFi wireless Internet services.

Jonathan promises the coffeehouse to be a safe place for you or your children to meet friends or just relax a bit. He invites performing groups to contact Goodies Community Coffeehouse for entertainment information.

The facility is open to assist non-profit fundraising activities and groups. School bands, choir groups, sports teams, cheerleading squads, or church youth groups may be interested in selling fundraising items from the Goodies center. If you or your company is interested in becoming a contributing sponsor to the ministry, please give Jonathan a call at (918) 369-5558.

Free meeting rooms are available to companies, Bible and book study groups, and any organization looking for a place to meet. Presentation equipment is available. If interested, you can buy or borrow a variety of Christian books, videos, tapes, DVDs, and CDs.

“We care,” says Jonathan, “and this is our way of reaching out to our community to show it. We provide spiritual, emotional and physical refreshment.”

Hours at Goodies Community Coffeehouse are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. They are open on Sundays by request. Lord of Life’s Sunday morning Bible study commences at 9:30 a.m., and church services are at 11.
