Tuesday evening, May 8 was great for Claremore as the Claremore Convention & Visitors Bureau and Destination Claremore were recognized for being top in our field. The Claremore Convention & Visitors Bureau received a RedBud Merit Award for Best Brochure, 11 pages or more, for our 2011 Visitors Guide. The 2nd annual Destination Claremore in 2011, an event that just finished its third year on May 5, was recognized as a RedBud Merit Award winner for Outstanding New Event.

“The RedBud Awards are presented by the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department,” said Lisa Dennis, marketing coordinator for the Claremore Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Tourism organizations and attractions from across the state compete for the coveted RedBud Awards. These awards are presented to those organizations and events that stand out in Oklahoma’s tourism industry.”

Destination Claremore is an event that started just three years ago and is continuing to grow each year, bringing together community members and outside visitors to experience all the great things that Claremore and Rogers County have to offer.

“Claremore: Oklahoma’s Cast of Legends” is the theme of our visitors guide, showcasing the history of Claremore and Rogers County. This publication is our first true visitors guide and continues to be distributed throughout the United States each month.

“We are so proud to have been recognized among our peers, by receiving these awards. The competition is fierce every year, as Oklahoma communities work hard to bring visitors to their area and to the state. Claremore is a great destination, and it’s wonderful to receive honors from industry partners both in state and out of state,” said Tanya Andrews, executive director of the Claremore CVB. “We have such wonderful, world class attractions and committed community partners that continue to showcase Claremore every day.”
