Melissa Carlson, unit marketing director for Chick-fil-A, welcomes you to Chick-fil-A Night at Owasso Stadium October 24.
Chick-fil-A in Owasso would like to invite the community out for a special evening of football, food and fun on Friday, October 24 as the Owasso Rams take on the Choctaw Yellowjackets. A proud member and Victory Sponsor of the Owasso Quarterback Club, Chick-fil-A will be sponsoring the big game. It is the Rams’ last home game of the season before hitting the road to play Yukon and Stillwater in regular season play.
Chick-fil-A is very involved in the Owasso community and supports its athletic teams in many ways. Melissa Carlson, unit marketing director for Chick-fil-A, has been hard at work for months to make this night something to remember. Chick-fil-A held a Feed the Team Night before the midnight practice, and recently worked with Owasso Schools to provide a new high-tech uniform for the high school mascot, Rambo. “The old high school mascot uniform had been around for many, many years and really needed to be replaced. Because of our Chick-fil-A cows, we have a little experience in the mascot uniform area,” adds Carlson. “We were very happy to help; the mascots add a lot to the atmosphere of the games.”
The atmosphere on October 24 should be exciting, even while the teams are not at play. According to Carlson, a helicopter will hover over the football field at halftime, dropping miniature Chick-fil-A cows with tiny parachutes. Chick-fil-A owner Mark Schneider and Quarterback Club President Matt Miller would like to thank Owasso alumnus Pete Kourtis for providing the helicopter to make the drop possible. The parachuting bovines can be seen on Chick-fil-A’s television commercials and are a big hit on YouTube.com. Of course, the parachuting ones at the Owasso game will be of the stuffed animal variety.
In addition to cows dropping from the sky, there will also be plenty on the ground. The Chick-fil-A cows will be roaming among the crowd, there will be games with free food prizes, and fans can register to win a year of free food. Complimentary chicken sandwiches will be provided while they last, and hundreds of coupons for free Chick-fil-A sandwiches will be distributed as well. One lucky fan will even take home a plush Chick-fil-A cow just by sitting in the lucky seat.

Owasso Stadium is located at the corner of 129th E. Ave. and 86th St. N., and the game starts at 7:30 p.m. Gather up the family and come on out for a great night of football, food and fun. See you there!
