Celebrate Cascia 2011 co-chairs Nikki Rhoades, Leigh Ann Fore, Doug DeJarnette and Ketrin Boone celebrate 85 years of Cascia Hall history.

In 1926, a local Catholic Bishop requested that the Order of Saint Augustine establish a private Catholic school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ever since then, Cascia Hall Preparatory School has been fulfilling the needs of educating students as a college preparatory, while instilling the teachings of St. Augustine to bring a physical, psychological, intellectual and spiritual understanding of God’s gift of talent and life to its students.

“This year, Cascia Hall will honor this 85th anniversary by showing the impact of a Catholic Augustinian education and the history made in the Tulsa community,” said Heather Duncan, Director of School Advancement for Cascia Hall. “Celebrate Cascia 2011 will acknowledge the past, present, and future of our community and all whom have chaired and hosted this event, as well as our alumni from the past 85 years!”

On Saturday, April 30, Cascia Hall Preparatory School and the Cascia Hall Parent Faculty Association (CPFA) will transform the school grounds into celebrations from the past and present, with a look into the future. This year’s event is all about the memories as Cascia Hall’s history will be displayed throughout the hallways of the school in photographs and precious memorabilia, with stories of generations dating back to 1926.

Two new events this year will be the Wine Pull and the Raffle for the Paddle. The lucky raffle winner will receive an auction paddle that will enable them to outbid any bidder on an auction item. That winner will go home with one of the evening’s prized live auction items for just the purchase of a raffle ticket.

Also new this year will be an elegant and enticing seated dinner where everyone will have an opportunity to browse through the 85th Anniversary Commemorative Memory Book. Favorite Cascia Hall memories will fill this special Memory Book with photographs, stories and celebrations from the past to the present. To participate in the Memory Book, please email Heather Duncan at eat1@eau1eav1eaw1.

As with every year, Celebrate Cascia will feature the truly anticipated live and silent auction events – as well as the online auction, which goes live on April 14 and will run until the evening of April 29.

The excitement generated from the dazzling live auction will be enhanced by the live entertainment provided by the Banana Seat band. Entertainment will also be featured in the infamous Cigar Bar located outside with fine cordials and the humidified cigars from the famous Café Cabana collection.

Special thanks go to the four Celebrate Cascia co-chair couples, Leigh Ann and Frank Fore, Nikki and Frank Rhoades, Ketrin and Ty Boone, and Liza and Doug DeJarnette. It will take each of these chairs, as well as our Patron Chairs, Susan and Lane Pennington, to celebrate 85 years of Cascia Hall!

On April 14, the Patron Party will be held in the home of Susan and Lane Pennington. On April 29, Liza and Doug DeJarnette will host an Alumni Reception, to be followed by the Celebrate Cascia event on April 30.

On May 1, Cascia Hall will host a Communion Breakfast, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rita Chapel and breakfast immediately following in the Cascia Dining Hall.

Individual tickets are $85; patron sponsorships and young alumni rates are also available. The event will take place at Cascia Hall, 2520 S. Yorktown Avenue – take the Utica entrance into the school grounds. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with a seated dinner at 7 p.m. The live auction begins at 8:30 p.m., and afterward, dancing to the Banana Seat band until 12 o’clock midnight.

The proceeds generated by Celebrate Cascia will be used to make campus improvements and to provide financial aid for Cascia Hall families. The benefits generated will directly assist every Cascia Hall student, as well as all of the Cascia Hall and Tulsa business communities participating as patrons and sponsors.
