Catoosa, Oklahoma is a wonderful community located on Route 66 that continues to see growth and change. According to the 2010 census, Catoosa’s population rose 31.2% in only 10 years.
The annual Catoosa Chamber Banquet will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 in the Sequoyah Ballroom at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. According to Glenna Scott, executive director of the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, this is an exciting event for the entire community to enjoy. “We encourage all Catoosa and surrounding area residents to attend the banquet because it provides an opportunity to get to know the people and businesses of Catoosa, interact with local business leaders, and enjoy a delicious meal and entertaining evening. Plus, we have a special surprise in store that you will not want to miss!”
Acclaimed radio personalities Bud and Broadway will serve as Masters of Ceremony and provide comedic entertainment. “This is not your typical banquet where – let’s be honest – the crowd sometimes gets bored and yawns throughout the event. Bud and Broadway are hilarious, and they provide good, clean comedy the audience will certainly enjoy,” says Glenna.
The annual banquet honors outstanding citizens and businesses of Catoosa. The public was invited to submit nominations for awards until the middle of January. A committee selects the winners, which are announced at the banquet. Awards include Ambassador of the Year, Business of the Year, President’s Award, and Citizen of the Year.
The Catoosa Citizen of the Year is someone whose actions have somehow improved the Catoosa area through volunteer service, who has a reputation of good character and is considered a civic leader. Last year’s Citizen of the Year was Ronda Frizley of the Catoosa Historical Society. “Ronda was so shocked and excited, and her whole family was there to cheer her on. It was so sweet and wonderful to watch,” says Glenna.
The banquet kicks off at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, including a variety of items donated by local businesses. The program and a Mardi Gras themed dinner catered by Hard Rock begins at 7 p.m. The dinner menu features bourbon chicken, salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, bread and butter, and king cake.
Reservations to the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce Banquet must be made by February 12, 2016. Cost is $45 for chamber members and $65 for non-members. Ten top sponsorship tables are available for $475 for members and $675 for non-members. For reservations, call (918) 266-6042 or email  eat0@eau0eav0eaw0.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the mission of the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce: To promote Catoosa to potential businesses and present a favorable climate to attract new businesses. “The Catoosa Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for businesses in our community. We provide members with valuable resources and tools to assist you with your business needs,” adds Glenna.
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa is the event’s host sponsor. Presenting sponsors are Hampton Inn & Suites, Insurica, and Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold. Entertainment sponsor is Valley National Bank.
