Isn’t it nice when you meet someone and you just know that she is a genuine “people person?” When you visit with Kelly Casey, that’s the feeling you get. Kelly has enjoyed her duties as service manager for Bill Knight Volvo of Tulsa for the past seven years. When asked how she happened to get in a male-dominated profession, Casey said, “I truly enjoy taking care of people and wanted a change from what I had been doing.”

Kelly went to work as a greeter for a Dallas-based Ford Lincoln dealership. She was only in that position three months when the general manager came to her and said he was impressed with her natural ability to relate to people, and asked if she would like to move to the dealership’s service department to receive training as a service consultant. Kelly served that dealership for 12 years before coming home to Tulsa in 2001 and began working as a service consultant with South Tulsa Ford. When Bill Knight acquired that dealership, he too noticed the way she related to customers and in 2001 asked her if she would move to the 41st and Memorial location and serve the dealership as service manager.

“Caring is real at Bill Knight Automotive,” says Kelly. “Customers have emotions and feelings, and I enjoy making them comfortable and happy.” Others have noticed Kelly’s sincerity and success in her profession. She has been a Ford Women’s Conference speaker in Dallas and has also spoken to women enrolled in management courses at Langston University in Tulsa.

Kelly Casey is truly proud of the service department’s three master certified Volvo technicians. They include Bruce Ruby, Mark Jones and Kevin Jackson. Each of these gentlemen receives ongoing training through Volvo’s continuing education program to maintain their certification.

Bruce Ruby says he has always enjoyed working on cars, even when he was a kid and didn’t really know what he was doing. With his interest and the help of friends, he acquired the basic skills necessary to land a job with an independent shop for two years. He then went on to work for a Volvo dealership in Oklahoma City. Bruce received his master certification with Volvo in 1995.

Mark Jones attended vo-tech classes while in high school and then attended Okmulgee Tech for his initial automotive mechanic training. He has been with Bill Knight Volvo for four years.

Kevin Jackson says he loved to “tinker” with cars when he was in high school in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Universal Technical Institute in Houston and has worked at Pontiac, Mitsubishi and Volvo dealerships in Shreveport and Tulsa. He is also a senior master Lincoln Ford technician.

It’s clear to see that Bill Knight Volvo has a service team of highly qualified and highly skilled individuals who take care of their customers and their vehicles. When making an appointment, you may call the service department direct or visit their website, www.VolvoOfTulsa.com. Although appointments are preferred, Kelly says they do their best to take care of drop-ins. “We have Volvo loaners on hand, plus a free shuttle service to aid our customers,” she adds. The service department also has a nice waiting area with a free coffee bar. And you are always assured that your car will receive only genuine Volvo parts and recommended oils whenever it is in for scheduled maintenance or service.

“Our bottom line,” says Kelly, “is that we want our customers to be happy. Bill Knight Volvo of Tulsa provides a state-of-the-art facility featuring the most current diagnostic and repair equipment available with highly skilled, factory-trained master certified technicians who can repair anything.”
