Marco Scott, Tammy Pounds, manager of Building Materials Factory Outlet, and Ron Roseborough are available to help customers find exactly what they need.
Tulsa’s best-kept secret in home improvement just might be Building Materials Factory Outlet. With an ever-changing stock, products are sold to consumers at incredible discounts. Tammy Pounds, Marco Scott and Ron Roseborough, the company’s friendly, full-time employees, are always available to help with customers’ needs.
Building Materials Factory Outlet is currently featuring products such as Marquee vinyl windows (most with low-emission glass), Weather-Shield wood windows, Heatilator and Desa fireplaces, as well as Simpson doors. Also carried are many other fine products, including cabinets, trim, tile, an abundance of tools, cull lumber, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, stain, sinks and miscellaneous furniture.
Building Materials Factory Outlet’s inventory is heavily discounted. Many products have their prices reduced as much as 50 percent or more, while some are even marked down by 80 percent. “We’ve only been open a year in October, and we have easily sold enough products to fill this store at least once,” mentions Pounds, manager of Building Materials Factory Outlet. Before opening the store, Tammy worked for one of the largest lumber companies in Oklahoma, managing the fireplace department and selling windows and doors.
Do not let the low prices give you fears of low quality. Customers can buy with confidence. “None of our products are seconds, and very few of them are damaged,” says Pounds. “Either the customer, the builder or the lumber company made a mistake and ordered the wrong thing. They may have ordered a right-hand door instead of a left-hand door, and that’s why we get the products here.”
Most everything goes fast at Building Materials Factory Outlet. What you see in the store today may be gone tomorrow. However, if you do not see exactly what you want, customers can check back soon and often. “Our products change all the time.” Pounds mentions. “Our inventory literally changes every day. The reason our prices are so cheap is because I agree to take whatever is sent to me. Every time we see a truck pull up, it’s like Christmas here. We usually have no idea what’s in the truck, and we can’t wait to get in it!”
Instead of targeting contractors, Building Materials Factory Outlet targets individual homeowners. “Our best customers are people who are building or remodeling their own homes,” Pounds says. “Windows and doors are our most popular products. We have French doors, wood, steel, fiberglass, all kinds of doors. We can do window and door takeoffs from blueprints; just bring your plans with you.”
“We are very excited about a new opportunity that has presented itself to us recently.” Pounds is looking at getting shipments of bathtubs, towers, vanity sinks and basins, as well as fencing. “We’ve just placed our first order direct from China,” she says. “Purchasing stock by the railroad container cuts out a lot of middle men and a lot of extra costs that the consumer would pay in the end.” One such product from China is a solid surface countertop material similar to Corian. It can be cut with a regular saw just like wood.
Building Materials Factory Outlet, located at 4581 E. 50th St., is always on the lookout for new and exciting bargains for its customers. The company is also working on expanding and adding more locations in northeast Oklahoma and in neighboring states. The Tulsa store, which can be found next to Celebration Station and Carrabba’s, is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Get the high-quality products while they are available; stop by today.
