Building Materials Factory Outlet has served the Tulsa metropolitan area for two years at 50th & Yale. During that time, the operation quickly outgrew the available floor space and has now moved to its new store, just one block west of Memorial on 41st Street. The new facility has the building materials inventory on display in a bright, clean showroom, all indoors.

“With the new location, we’re going to change up the inventory a bit. We’ll still offer the wide variety of light fixtures, windows, doors, cabinets, wood trim and fireplaces, but we’re not going to carry the lumber like before,” says manager Tammy Pounds. “We are going to widen our selection of hand tools, hardware, light fixtures and bathroom vanities.” In fact, Tammy says that she is expecting three container orders full of light fixtures, bathroom vanities and hand tools over the next couple of months.

Tammy and Marco are very excited about the new location. “There are so many home improvement stores in the neighborhood we’re going to have to rename 41st Street to ‘Remodelers Ave,’” says Tammy. Customers will now be able to shop a variety of home do-it-yourself stores along 41st Street between Sheridan and Memorial. “We are very excited about our new neighbors moving in next door, Mill Creek Kitchen & Bath. We all offer something a little different, with emphasis on pretty much the same goal, either remodeling a home or building a new one.”

The new location offers an abundance of parking spaces and is conveniently located with a good network of expressways leading to it, and it has none of the heavy traffic associated with the major shopping areas of metro Tulsa.

“Our focus has always been on the do-it-yourself shopper. We are thinking about planning free in-store events to demonstrate how to properly complete projects that may seem a little overwhelming to the first timer,” says Tammy. “We love it when our customers bring in their before and after pictures! It’s so exciting to see our products installed in someone’s home.” Tammy suggests that customers tackling a home do-it-yourself project bring in photos or blueprints of the area in which the remodel will take place, so that they can discuss the hoped-for results with an employee. It’s a great way to get tips for completing the task at hand and a few design ideas.
