Fall is here and the treacherous driving of winter is just around the corner. After last year’s ice storm and the rash of weather-related accidents, Randy and Liz Pruitt of Pruitt’s Auto Collision offer some timely advice to help you be prepared.

Of course nobody wants to be involved in an auto accident, but being prepared can make all the difference in the final outcome of your vehicle. Randy Pruitt, owner, suggests following these steps at the scene of an accident:

1) Stop immediately, but do not obstruct traffic. 2) Assist the injured, and have someone call the police. 3) Secure names, phone numbers, addresses of other drivers, witnesses and injured persons. 4) Secure make, model and license plate numbers of all cars involved. 5) Make a rough drawing of the scene, showing position of cars and other details. 6) Don’t hastily accept liability at scene of the accident. 7) Remain calm, courteous and consistent in your version of the accident. 8) Notify Pruitt’s Auto Collision as soon as possible. Pruitt’s can provide you with an estimate on repairs and arrange towing if your car is not drivable.

Pruitt’s Auto Collision offers a very helpful website that explains the repair process in detail. This website is available at  www.pruittsautocollision.com and also offers online rental car reservations, estimate appointments and a list of frequently asked questions about car repair.

Randy Pruitt is well-qualified to answer your questions regarding car repair. After growing up around cars, Randy worked for his parents at Pruitt’s Body Shop for 15 years. Bud and Judy Pruitt retired in 2001, and Randy and his wife Liz opened their own shop in 2007. Randy and Liz say they really enjoy meeting new customers and re-establishing relationships with previous clients and friends. The Pruitt name has a proven track record, and Randy is continuing the tradition of quality service.

Randy and Jeff Williamson, a master technician with over 30 years experience, have been joined in the shop by Jason Linzy. Jason is also a master technician with over 15 years experience, and all three are ASE tested and I-CAR certified. They are happy to provide timely service and free estimates. Services offered include precision frame and unibody repair and replacement, precise auto body repair, parts and replacement, mechanical work, and computerized paint matching. Additionally, Pruitt’s offers windshield and glass replacement, paintless dent repair and fleet vehicle service.

There’s no advertisement like word of mouth referrals, and Liz Pruitt said she is proud that their business has been built around the needs of their customers. While Pruitt’s will work with your insurance company, they are not dictated by insurance company limitations. “We have repaired over 300 cars our first year, and we are thankful that our clients recognize we are a shop that works for them, not the insurance companies. There’s definitely a difference.”

One Owasso couple experienced the ice storm up close and personal last December and needed a reputable shop to repair their Ford Escape. Ken and Carol Reed turned to Pruitt’s after getting several estimates. “I liked that Randy took the time to answer all of our questions and kept us informed throughout the process. The price was right and Pruitt’s did an excellent job; our car looked just like new,” said Carol. Ken adds that once the repair had been started, additional internal damage was found that was not visible during the estimate. Randy notified the insurance company and handled everything. “We were very pleased, and if we should need auto body repairs in the future, we will definitely use Pruitt’s Auto Collision again,” said Ken.

Pruitt’s Auto Collision is located on the east service road of Highway 169. Hours are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
