(L to R) Tiffanie Riggs and Susan Bowren
Susan Bowren and Tiffanie Riggs, a mother and daughter team. Susan brought Tiffanie into the business and never looked back. “Her new eye has brought the store to the forefront when it comes to the latest formal gowns and fashions,” says Susan.
Treasured Gowns has been providing a complete selection of wedding, formal wear and tailoring for over 5 years. “I always thought this would be a fun business. All my life I wanted a dress shop. My brothers could tell you how I used to draw dresses as a child, and I proved to be a natural seamstress at the age of nine,” Susan recalls.
The store offers special occasion dresses for all ages and sizes. Some dressy-casual jackets, skirts and pants are also available. The styles at Treasured Gowns are very “fashion-forward,” meaning they are chic couture. Unique shoes, accessories and other items are available in all price ranges.
Treasured Gowns also accepts outside alterations. Their expert tailoring is a very popular service to the community.
They specialize in wedding gowns, destination gowns designed to not wrinkle when packed in a suitcase and beach gowns to adapt to the sand and surf of a beach wedding. Cinderella wedding gowns to long, elegant wedding dresses and short, less formal wedding gowns are available in a vast array of styles, as well as gowns for any wedding theme.
Styles of dresses range from the dreamy looks, sassy to elegant, from the fancy to the chic. Their diverse choices ensure that dresses selected are age-appropriate and sophisticated. Dresses are available in all sizes to include plus to petite. If a style appeals to someone, but is needed in a different size, the dress can be custom ordered.
Bridesmaid dresses are available in a multitude of styles and 56 colors. Once ordered they will arrive in approximately twelve weeks. Rush orders can be accomplished in about five weeks.
Treasured Gowns is located at 502 South Main Street in Sapulpa. They are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thurday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After the first of the year, they will be open Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m through April.
Customers love Treasured Gowns because, unlike many bridal and formal boutiques, they have a plentiful selection of in stock dresses to choose from. “One lady drove all the way from Oklahoma City, “ recounts Bowren, “to buy a Casa Blanca wedding gown that other stores would have charged her $250 to bring in and try on, and she would have had to wait weeks. We had it in stock and she just came over and bought it on the same day.”
Clients come from as far as Wichita, Kansas City, Louisiana, Michigan to shop Treasured Gowns for the most unique prom and wedding gowns.
Prom is an experience that we remember for years. Having just the perfect look is a very important factor and Treasured Gowns takes steps to help ensure that you do not arrive at the Prom only to see another person wearing the same dress.
“All gowns purchased at Treasured Gowns are registered. This helps to ensure that only one style of gown is sold to each school, even the same style in a different color does not count,” emphasized Bowren.
Superior quality gowns are by such makers as Riva, Le Gala, Party Time, Paris by Tony Bowls, Cassandra Stone and Mike Benét. One of their newest lines arriving soon is the Prima Dona Pageant brand of stunning pageant dresses.
So what is the latest trend for Prom 2007? According to Bowren, the Hollywood look is in vogue. These styles of dresses are enhanced with beaded fabrics in earth tones, rich lattés, browns, bronzes, golds and greens. They feature soft, body hugging fabrics that flow when you walk and swing when you dance. Charmeuse fabrics are popular, along with asymmetrical hemlines, asymmetrical trains and ruched bodices.
Treasured gowns also rents the latest styles in tuxedos for men. Susan’s husband, Rick, is an expert fitter of tuxedos and does all the measuring and fitting for men.
Crinolines, which are full petticoats worn under wedding dresses, are also available.
If your desire is for one-on-one personal service in a small town family atmosphere, then shopping at Treasured Gowns will be a pleasure. The Bowren family philosophy is to establish long-term relationships and to serve each generation after generation. As Bowren says, “We will see the girls for their prom gowns and special event needs now– and hope to see them after college for when the ‘big day’ comes.”
For your convenience, appointments are not necessary to try on gowns, and lengthy disclaimer paperwork is not required.
