Ted Cundiff, new president and CEO of AVB Bank.
AVB Bank announced Ted Cundiff has been named president and chief executive officer (CEO). Cundiff will assume his role effective March 1, 2013. Most recently, Cundiff served as AVB’s chief lending officer (CLO) and senior executive vice president. He replaces Jim Boze, who after 40 years in the banking industry, announced earlier this year that he would retire. Boze will remain with the organization through the end of February 2013.
“Ted Cundiff has extensive financial experience. He understands our industry and our community and brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as AVB Bank’s president and chief executive officer,” said Kelley Rash, AVB Bank chairperson of the board. “We are confident that with Ted’s leadership, AVB will be able to enhance our ability to serve, connect, and succeed with our customers and the communities we serve.”
Cundiff has over 20 years of banking experience, with previous management experience related to commercial lending, cash management and commercial client services, wealth management, and retail branch operations and call center banking. Cundiff made his move to AVB Bank in 2012 after serving for 13 years as president of SpiritBank.
“AVB Bank has been building a solid foundation with the people and businesses of Broken Arrow for over a century. I’m proud to join this dynamic team and be part of the future growth and development of our bank and city,” said Cundiff.
Several local boards and organizations currently benefit from Cundiff’s business acumen, including: Oklahoma Council for Economic Education, Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation, Oklahoma State University Technology Business Development Program, StartUp Cup Business Model Competition, and Tulsa Community College (TCC) LAUNCH Program.
Being previously recognized as a State of Oklahoma Financial Services Champion by the Small Business Administration is just one of the many honors bestowed upon Cundiff during his career. He is a graduate of both Leadership Tulsa, Class 34, and Leadership Oklahoma, Class XXI.
An Oklahoma State University graduate, Cundiff holds a bachelor of arts degree in marketing, with an emphasis in management. He earned a master of business administration from Oklahoma City University.
Cundiff and his wife, Latonya, are proud to call Broken Arrow home. Founded in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in 1905, AVB Bank is a fourth-generation family-owned community bank with locations in Tulsa and Broken Arrow.
