The 15th annual Autumn Harvest Arts & Crafts Festival benefiting Madonna House will be Saturday, September 20. The festival draws more than 80 vendors from across a wide region to Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, host for the event. Attendees browse jewelry, florals, handbags, fudge, crafts and home décor items, in addition to an array of foods.

Tickets are $3.00 at the door and all proceeds benefit Madonna House, a residential maternity home dedicated to helping pregnant or new moms in crisis situations. Madonna House, operated under the auspices of Catholic Charities of Tulsa, assists women through lodging, healthy nutrition, linkage with maternity care, professional counseling and child care education, as well as instruction leading to a GED or support toward post-high school training or education.

Madonna House is a group home housing up to nine adult women and their infants once born. The program benefits from long-term support in the community and depends upon voluntary contributions from individuals and groups who want to lend a helping hand to this especially vulnerable segment of the population. No fee is charged for services and no government reimbursement or other programs subsidize the costs involved in serving the needs of these women and children.

Madonna House provides care on the basis of need regardless of race, nationality or religious preference. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve residents’ needs.

The Autumn Harvest Arts & Crafts Festival will take place Saturday, September 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bishop Kelley, located at 3905 S. Hudson Ave. The public can help the Madonna House simply by attending the event, or volunteering to help. The committee has worked hard to make this event possible and includes event chairs Judy Galvin and Char Hille and committee members Stephanie Wolf, Cathey Sullivan, Anne Waruszewski, Amie Jonckowski, Cathy Demond, Gail Hobbs, Alison Stookey, Terri Beam, Lynn Creider, Maribeth Savage, Cassy Lynch, John O'neill, Tish Stuart and Judi Roberts.

Media sponsors for the event are Crossroads Communications, LLC, Drake Systems, Inc. and Cox Media.
