Rogers County Commissioner Dan DeLozier, who serves District 1 since 2006, was recently elected president of the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma (ACCO) and assumed his official duties on Jan. 1.
Incoming President DeLozier will lead the 12-member governing board of the statewide association, which serves as a critical hub for leadership training, educational programming, and a comprehensive array of services designed to “support the health, safety, and welfare needs” of all Oklahoma citizens.
ACCO represents all 231 county commissioners from Oklahoma’s 77 counties.
“I am honored to have been selected by the board to lead this association that is important for all the counties,” said DeLozier.
ACCO’s mission of making county government stronger through collaboration, education, and resources that gets shared —according to DeLozier—is the best way to help counties across the state.
The association’s programs focus on essential areas like infrastructure, budgeting, emergency management, and legislative advocacy, ensuring commissioners are equipped to serve their constituents effectively.
He said, “My lengthy involvement with ACCO has reinforced how important our shared mission is, and I look forward to continuing that work with commissioners across the state to ensure we are meeting the needs of every county.”
The association’s day-to-day operations are managed by a board-appointed Executive Director, Chris Schroder, who works under the guidance of the volunteer board.
“Commissioner Dan DeLozier’s election as President of ACCO shows the respect he has earned from his colleagues across Oklahoma. Commissioner DeLozier brings leadership, integrity, and experience on county issues to the role of ACCO President. We are excited for the year ahead.”
DeLozier joins the current leadership cycle: Vice-President Kenny Payne of Muskogee County; Secretary/Treasurer Bryce Bohot of Jefferson County; and past-President Jim Rogers of Sequoyah County.
