A Diamond Among Lawn Stores

“You’ve got to have great products,” says Linda, “and you’ve got to let your customers know just how truly special they are.”

J.W. and Linda Powers, along with grandson-in-law Jeremy Scott, welcome you to the newest Diamond P Lawn & Garden location on Highway 66 south of Claremore.

If you are already a customer of Diamond P Lawn & Garden, you’ve probably been told by owner J.W. Powers, “We couldn’t do it without you.” J.W. and his wife Linda know full well that loyal, satisfied customers are what it takes to make a business successful. “You’ve got to have great products,” says Linda, “and you’ve got to let your customers know just how truly special they are.”

J.W.’s dad started the family owned and operated sawmill business back in 1960 at 30001 E. Admiral Pl. in Catoosa. The sawmill is still on its original land and is operated by J.W. and Linda’s son, Todd Powers.

In the early 90s, the family business expanded with the addition of chain saws and chains. By 1993 they sold trimmers, blowers, hardwood flooring and more. The original Diamond P store continues to operate from the Admiral location and is run by another son and his wife, Tim and Lisa Powers. Brittany Powers rounds out the friendly team. And the Powers family house still stands behind the store.

In February of this year, a second location was opened on Highway 66 south of Claremore. The original store had been attracting consumer and commercial customers from the entire metro Tulsa area. J.W. and Linda have lived in Claremore for eight years and according to J.W., “Our customers made us do it. They just kept telling us we needed to open a store in Claremore – so we did.”

Lisa, Brittany and Todd are the smiling faces you’ll see at Diamond P’s original location in Catoosa.

The new Claremore location carries full lines of lawn and garden equipment including lawn mowers of all types, tractors, chain saws, blowers, tillers and mulchers. Besides Stihl and Massey Ferguson, Diamond P is the factory authorized service center in the area for Exmark, Harman Stoves, Husqvarna and Shindiawa. This is a valuable point to consider prior to making a purchase of lawn or garden equipment. Most of us have, at one time or another, bought an item, only to find out that the dealer selling it to us could not provide service when there was a problem. Diamond P also carries a huge inventory of parts for all products they carry.

Whether you’re a homeowner or a commercial user, give some serious thought to the mower or other product you’re considering before making your purchase. The product you buy will depend upon your basic needs and usage. You’ll want to consider the size of the lawn to be maintained, your physical ability, and the applications of the machine, such as mulching, side discharge or bagging. J.W., Linda, and grandson-in-law Jeremy Scott will help steer you to the product that is right for you and the intended job. They are always happy to explain the features and benefits of each product to help you make your final decision.

J.W. is very proud of the high-quality Exmark zero turn mowers they sell, which are manufactured in Beatrice, Nebraska. Exmark is the leading manufacturer of commercial mowers for the landscaping professional, and is also popular with homeowners. Customers have told J.W. that these mowers have increased their productivity by as much as 20 percent or more. “I just had to see the cut to believe it,” says J.W.
