Polish those chrome accessories and rev up those engines! It’s time for Collinsville’s signature event, Hogs ‘N Hot Rods! Now celebrating their 10th year, Hogs has become one of Oklahoma’s premiere award winning car and bike shows. With new attractions and more exciting activities than ever before, this year’s show is one you will not want to miss!

Early Saturday morning, June 11, hundreds of hot rods and motorcycles will descend on Main Street Collinsville, all hoping for the chance to take home the coveted first place prize in their category, and with over 20 categories to choose from, everyone has a chance to win. “This show has become ‘the’ place to be over the past years,” laughs Collinsville Downtown Inc. Program Director Susan Erler. “Our downtown area is completely transformed that day into a festive and fun filled area with something for everyone in the family.”

Prepare yourself for a day filled with exciting activities like helicopter rides from Crumpton Aviation and a fantastic Kids Zone area full of inflatables and plenty of kid friendly activities. Don’t be surprised if you happen to see News Channel 8’s Kristen Dickerson! She is this year’s celebrity car show judge. And, be sure to check out the amazing shopping opportunities available in downtown Collinsville. Everything from antiques to the hottest new trends in fashion and home décor as well as some really yummy homemade ice cream can all be found in C’ville’s historic downtown. Add to the mix an outstanding assortment of arts and crafts vendors, and all the nostalgic food items you remember from the local fair and you get a day filled with memories you won’t soon forget!

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the awards ceremony beginning at 4:30 from the event stage located at 11th and Main. “Each year, this show gets bigger and better than the year before,” explains Susan. “With this being our 10th anniversary, we expect our attendance numbers and show entries to far exceed those from the past.”

Be sure to bring along your camera too! Collinsville Downtown is thrilled to have the famed Orange County “Cherokee Chopper” as part of the show. The Hard Rock Casino has graciously offered to bring this gorgeous bike to Hogs ‘N Hot Rods and it is sure to draw a huge crowd! Grab a picture of this amazing bike and be the envy of all your friends.

Each year, Hogs offers an “Official Hogs” T-shirt for sale, but this year’s design is truly a hometown original. A contest was held for local residents to submit their best design for the front of the iconic tee and the winner is Taylor Whisenhunt. Taylor is a graduate of Collinsville High School and currently teaches second grade in Oologah. Her design really captured the spirit of the event, showcasing a motorcycle, antique truck, the official Hogs mascot and some other super cool biker elements. Be sure to pick up one of these T-shirts at the CDI offices located at 12th and Main or at their booth the day of the show. Don’t wait too long though. They usually sell out early in the day.

Susan would like to say a big thank you to their co-presenting sponsors: American Bank and Myers-Duren Harley Davidson as well as Major Sponsors QuikTrip, Collinsville Soil Program and Greybeards. “Without the support of these businesses, we could never pull off an event of this size,” states Susan. “They have been a fabulous group of supporters to work with this year and I cannot say thank you enough!”

There still may be time to enter your booth into the show by contacting Susan at (918) 371-5530, and all vehicle and motorcycle registrations are accepted until 10 a.m. the day of the show. Applications can be found at www.Cvilleok.com/DowntownInc or one can be mailed to you.

"Where else can you find so much to do all in one place,” says Susan. “If you have never come to Hogs ‘N Hot Rods, make this the year you do! You will wonder what took you so long to discover it!”
