Karen Watkins will present a lecture on “Environmentally Friendly Gardening” at the Tulsa Garden Center’s Gardening Info Fair.

Get ready for spring! Join other like-minded gardeners on Saturday, February 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to plan your most successful garden ever at the Gardening Info Fair.

Tulsa Garden Center’s affiliated gardening clubs will be on hand to provide information and resources on specific plant topics and their individual organizations. The goal of the fair is to offer environmentally conscious and renewable resource gardening information to the public well in advance of the planting season. The public will learn how gardeners utilize plants to promote health and well-being. This will be a great time to investigate joining a club focused on your favorite plant. Retail nurseries, environmentalists, horticultural experts, landscape designers and educational institutions will also participate.

During this event, Karen Watkins, Linnaeus Gardener and Master Gardener, will give a lecture on “Environmentally Friendly Gardening.” Karen will discuss some of the more practical and cost-effective ways you can be environmentally conscious while creating a great garden.
“I will discuss several topics, including what we can do to make gardening more pleasurable and more budget-friendly. I love to help people to get in touch with nature and get away from the computer! My goal is to encourage others to love gardening as much as I do,” says Karen. This lecture welcomes everyone from beginners to master gardeners. She offers a straightforward, simple approach to gardening that all skill levels are sure to enjoy.

Karen has a proven track record with both her own urban garden and in the classes and lectures she teaches throughout the year. This presentation will be held in the Tulsa Garden Center Ballroom from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with time for questions afterward. Call (918) 746-5125 or visit  www.tulsagardencenter.com for enrollment details. There is no cost to attend this seminar.
