Tai Chi: Making for Better Balance 12 week Tai Chi program Presented by Creek County Health Department & Creek County Literacy Program Research shows practicing Tai Chi is an effective way for older adults to reduce their risk of falling. Nationally, falls are the leading cause of injuries among adults 65 years and older. Every 20 minutes an older adult dies from a fall in the United States. Falls result in the hospitalization of 7,000 older adults and the death of more than 450 older adults annually. The rate of falls in Oklahoma is 55% higher than the national rate. Sessions begin June 4 Tuesdays • 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
