Brown Bag It 2017-18 Series Announced for Tulsa PAC Trust

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust’s Brown Bag It free noontime concert series on select Wednesdays at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center is back with another exciting line-up. The popular series, which was established in the early 1980s, is once again returning to the first Wednesday of every month, with the exception of January. Vocalist Janet Rutland kicks off the 2017-18 Brown Bag It season. Janet is equally comfortable singing Hank Williams or Johnny Mercer. Rutland will be accompanied by pianist Spencer Sutton for a set of vintage pop, jazz and country music. The mission of the series is to offer the community an opportunity to visit the Performing Arts Center facility and hear quality musical presentations. Audiences are invited to bring and eat lunch during the concerts, creating an informal atmosphere. Likewise, the musicians are encouraged to “inform” as well as perform by giving background information or program notes during the concert, breaking down the barriers between performer and audience. Williams Theatre at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. About the Tulsa PAC Trust: The Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust is a non-profit organization formed with private funds in 1977 after the construction of the City of Tulsa’s Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Its Board of Trustees, appointed by the Mayor, share a passionate love of the arts and a dedication to the cultural life of the city. TPACT presents a season of entertainment events, assists the Performing Arts Center with facility improvements and gives grants to local arts organizations.

Creek County OHCE Quilt & Craft Show

Colorful, creative handmade quilts at this juried show. Several categories including traditional pieced, embroidered, and mixed techniques. You will also find wall hangings, baby quilts, quilt blocks and wearables. Browse vendor booths, a Country Store and a tea room. Parking is free and no charge for children.

2017 Cyntergy Hurtland, a Tulsa Tough Production

Saint Francis Tulsa Tough founders and organizers will bring Cyntergy Hurtland back for the third year on Sunday, November 12, 2017, in Owen Park downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. The cycling event will include cyclocross races where spectators will enjoy heckling (highly encouraged) and other festive activities when the racers are out of immediate viewing. This year’s event features an all new corporate Team Relay Challenge benefitting Tulsa Habitat for Humanity’s Village at Whittier Heights, a multifamily housing community in the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood. This program provides an opportunity for the person with the disease to use remaining motor skills and non-linear communication to recreate a representation of them that lets other recognize their essence.
