Goodwill and Dell Reconnect
A free computer recycling program is available for residents to dispose old computers and parts.

Technology is improving every day. Today’s computers are quickly leaving yesterday’s systems in the past – or in your closet, basement or attic. Dell and Goodwill Industries of Tulsa continue their partnership to Reconnect, a no-charge computer recycling program for consumers. The program is intended to raise awareness of the importance of responsible computer disposal and give residents a free and convenient way to do the right thing with their unwanted home computer equipment. “We offer this service to the community so that everyone is able to recycle their old computers in an environmentally friendly way,” says Nancy Webster, Director of Community Relations for Goodwill Industries of Tulsa.
Jim Gibbons, president and CEO for Goodwill Industries International, said: “The partnership has not only allowed us to responsibly recycle and divert millions of pounds of electronic equipment, nationally, from the landfills, but also create green-collar jobs and skills training at a time when both are very much needed.”
“The equipment residents bring in is recycled responsibly, meeting Dell’s extensive and strict Electronic Disposition Policy,” says Nancy. “It is the responsibility of the donor to make sure any private or sensitive material is erased from the hard drive before donation.”
Goodwill Industries of Tulsa will gladly accept donations of computer equipment at any of their 27 donation sites.
In general, Dell Reconnect accepts any brand of computer equipment in any condition from consumers and recycles it for free. They also accept just about anything that can be attached to a computer, including monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mouse devices, speakers, cords and cables, ink and toner cartridges, and software.
Your donated equipment has value – sometimes as a whole system, sometimes as parts, and sometimes as raw materials such as metals, plastics and glass. You’ll get a receipt for tax purposes, plus you’ll be helping to protect the environment and benefit your community at the same time.
