You may not be a golf pro, but that doesn’t matter to the Claremore Christian School Booster Club or Parent Teacher Organization. The two groups are hosting a Warrior Scramble Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 13 at the Scissortail Golf Club in Claremore to raise funds for their scholarship endowment fund, as well as purchase needed classroom, library and athletic supplies.

“We’ve hosted several golf tournaments over the past ten years,” says Claremore Christian School Superintendent Ryan Mullins, “and we always have fun.”

one,” he adds. “Last year, we did start one and part of the proceeds from the golf tournament will be added to this fund and invested. We can then offer scholarships to qualified students.”
The tourney is a four-person scramble format from the blue tees with the use of mulligans, string and other advantageous tools. Mixed foursomes are welcome, although you don’t need a foursome to enter.

“If you would like us to put a team together for you, we are happy to do that,” says PTO member Kathy Easterling, who is also the director of the tournament.

The team registration fee is $300, while CCS alumni can enter for $260 a team. Although the registration deadline is September 5, “We will take walk-ups that morning,” says Kathy. “The ideal minimum is 18 teams, and we expect those slots to fill up fast.”

According to Mullins, “We’ve had people from out-of-state who have competed in our golf tournament in the past years. It’s just a great fall day to get out and have fun while raising money for a good cause.”

The entry fee covers the green fees, range balls, a golf cart, use of the driving range, lunch and a Warrior Scramble T-shirt. All players must have their own set of clubs. Rental sets are available, however, at the Scissortail Golf Shop.

Prizes will also be given, including the first, second and third place winners for closest to the pin and the longest drive. Participants can also get in on drawings for the following prizes: Claremore Tire gift certificates; Red Bud Marina paddle board experience; Silver Dollar City tickets; Lowrance – fish finder; Shangri-la round of golf for four; BLF Photography – three photo sessions; Oklahoma paragliding – one tandem flight; Forest Ridge player card; Mohawk Golf round of golf for four; and Scissortail Golf Club round of golf for four. Other drawings will also be held, with tickets costing $1 each or 6 for $5.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at the gold, silver and bronze levels with participating organizations benefitting from extended name recognition within Claremore and the surrounding areas. “As a sponsor, you have the opportunity to support Claremore Christian School students and increase the visibility of your business in a way that would be difficult to duplicate,” says Kathy. With each tier, beginning with the bronze, the opportunity to showcase your business increases through publicity at the tee boxes, signs, T-shirts, a listing on the school website and a link to the sponsoring business’s website. The gold tier is $500; silver tier is $250 and the bronze tier is $100.

Current sponsors include Animal Medical Center, Most Machine, Stillwater Milling Co., Green Country Towing, Claremore Youth Football Association, Suburban Chevrolet, Mystic Vapors on Route 66, Robertson Tire, Lucas Metal Works, Baker Hughes, Ira Greene Construction, BancFirst, Wal-Mart and Warehouse Market. Sponsorships are available by emailing eat0@eau0eav0eaw0 or calling (918) 341-1805.

Claremore Christian School has been equipping generations to engage culture with a Biblical worldview since 1984. “We provide our students with a classical education for a solid foundation for success,” says Mullins.
