Tulsa Garden Center hosts the SpringFest Garden Market and Festival, April 11 and 12, 2014.

Now’s the time to plan your garden. Tulsa Garden Center can help you create a great garden that will be the envy of your neighbors and friends. Join us at 2435 S. Peoria on April 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the annual SpringFest Garden Market and Festival, where you will find everything ­needed to create a beautiful garden. There will be a large variety of plants, gardening information, garden art, unique art and craft vendors, a kids’ zone with fun ­activities, and food and fun for the whole family.
    While strolling along the beautiful landscape of the mansion’s front lawn, you will have the opportunity to shop for special garden plants. Area plant nurseries will offer the newest and best plant selections for 2014. The ­popular Linnaeus Teaching Garden pass-along plant tent will be full of plants for sale from the gardens of Linnaeus gardeners and other friends of the Tulsa Garden Center. Take this opportunity to ask any gardening questions you might have of these ­professional nursery men and women and Linnaeus ­gardeners. Confirmed plant vendors are Colebrook Nursery, Duck Creek Farms, Grogg’s Green Barn, Roses, Inc. Green Country, Timber Ridge Farms, Utopia Gardens, and Clear Creek Farm & Gardens.
    Affiliates of the Tulsa Garden Center will also be on hand to describe their ­organizations. Confirmed affiliates are: Green Country Water Garden Society, Linnaeus Gardeners, Northeastern Oklahoma Beekeepers Association, Tulsa Area Daylily Society, Tulsa Area Iris Society, Tulsa Garden Club, Tulsa Herb Society, Tulsa Master Gardeners, and Up With Trees.
    Bring the whole family and spend a fun-filled day at this spring event. The ­children’s area will offer ­multiple entertaining and educational activities. These activities include face painting, balloons, the Adopt-a-Pet Van from SPCA, the Reading Van from Tulsa City/County Library, pictures with the Easter Bunny, planting ­take-home butterfly-attracting plants and creating pet rocks.  
    Vendors outside and inside the historical Tulsa Garden Center home will offer exceptional craft items for you, your home and ­garden. Confirmed vendors are: Nancy Grayson-Garden Art, Beth Teel-Hypertuffa Pots, Donna Prigmore-Pottery, All About Metal, All Clay, Apostrophe…at Addie Eva’s Attic, Archana Gupta-Silversmith, Artistry & Old Lace, B&K Enterprises, Basket Sensations, Buzz Art, Creations by Tina, Déjà vu Décor, Dutchess Chocolates, Ella’s Dips, Empowering Nations, F.     Also, inside the mansion you will find a bird house ­auction and a food concession with tasty items.
    After shopping, guests can visit the beautiful Linnaeus Teaching Garden, a state-of-the-art demonstration garden in Woodward Park, which offers an array of ideas for the home gardener.
    Mark your calendar now to attend this gardening extravaganza on April 11 and 12. Proceeds from SpringFest Garden Market and Festival benefit the Tulsa Garden Center.
