Ted Cundiff, AVB Bank president and chief executive officer (CEO), has announced that Kevin Highland (NMLS ID 211343) has joined AVB Mortgage Center and been named the new president for the mortgage division. Highland will serve on AVB Bank’s management team.
“As AVB Bank considered the expansion and growth of our mortgage division, we quickly identified Kevin to direct this initiative,” stated Cundiff. “He is an accomplished leader in the mortgage industry and will be instrumental in streamlining our mortgage processes, expanding our mortgage offerings and growing and developing AVB’s Mortgage Center.”
Highland has over 30 years of management experience in sales, real estate, consumer finance and portfolio servicing. Highland made his move to AVB after serving as vice president for The Exchange Bank, where he was responsible for secondary mortgage financing, as well as serving for the past 15 years as president of Great Plains Mortgage Company, Inc.
A graduate of Iowa State University, Highland holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Highland and his wife, Karen, reside in Owasso.
“AVB Bank has an excellent reputation for providing unparalleled customer service and developing relationships with their clients. They understand hometown banking and the need for individual and professional attention, yet, they are large enough to provide the innovative product offers that customers need,” Highland commented. “I am thrilled to be part of the growth and development of AVB Mortgage Center, and borrowers can be confident that they have a partner in AVB, that will walk every step alongside them as they discover the loan that best fits their needs.”
Staffed with local industry experts to service local clients, AVB Mortgage Center continues to hire professionals with deep roots in the local community.
“Kevin is an accomplished leader and is assembling a fine team of high-quality and professional loan originators that are passionate about helping our clients,” explained Cundiff.     Joining Highland at AVB Mortgage Center are three loan originators that have an excellent history of customer service: Tommy Gann (NMLS ID 217602), Gary Laughinghouse (NMLS ID 217154) and Katherine Grammer (NMLS ID 743106). Additional staffing and expansion is slated for 2014.
Highland is pleased to announce that a new product offering is now available through AVB Mortgage Center. AVB has become an approved lender for the Section 184 Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program, a program specifically designed for American Indian and Alaska Native families, Alaska Villages, Tribes, or Tribally Designated Housing Entities. “Because of the unique status of Indian lands being held in Trust, Native American homeownership has historically been an underserved market,” explained Highland. “Through the Section 184 program, loans can be used, both on and off native lands, for new construction, rehabilitation, purchase of an existing home or refinance.”
“The expansion of the AVB Mortgage Center comes at an exciting time within the mortgage banking industry. AVB Bank has recognized that consumers and realtors need a partner that offers a broad spectrum of products and common sense underwriting. Our clients need personalized attention and solutions that are customized to their financial circumstances. AVB Mortgage Center can provide step-by-step guidance for homebuyers, locally review and approve loans and provide timely feedback – and be that solution.”
AVB Mortgage Center offers a variety of additional loan options, including: FHA, new home purchase, jumbo financing, rate and term financing, construction-to-permanent, cash out refinancing, rural development, and investment property purchase. MEMBER FDIC. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY LENDER.
