It happens to most of us at some point during our lives: the feeling of dread that arises when our vehicle needs some work done, or it when it comes time to purchase a new vehicle. Consumers are often weary of dealerships and service departments because – whether it is completely true or not – they have a reputation for dishonesty. A famous “Seinfeld” episode demonstrates how widespread this perception is. Jerry takes his car to a new mechanic, whom he believes gives him too high of an estimate. George exclaims to Jerry that of course he is being overcharged – “That’s what they do. It’s because you don’t know anything about what’s going on under there!”

Eric Anderson, parts and service manager of Honda of Bartlesville, says that his team’s goal is to prove this view wrong. “One of our biggest objectives at Honda of Bartlesville is building a trusting relationship with our customers. We have a true desire to help people make the best possible decision concerning their vehicle, and we emphasize honesty and integrity. We want people to feel safe bringing their vehicles here and sending their kids here, with the assurance that we will not overcharge them or pressure them into unnecessary repairs.”

Honda of Bartlesville has a small-community atmosphere where the staff knows customers by name. “We truly provide a no-hassle experience,” says Eric. “We will recommend services, but there is no pressure on you. It’s completely your decision. And it’s always nice to go to a place where they know you. The owner, Hal Steinke, is here every day, talking to customers and saying hi. It’s a really welcoming atmosphere. We want you to feel like you’re with friends and enjoy your visit.”

Hal Steinke purchased the dealership in June of 2008. “My philosophy here is to give you all the information and prices you need up front, without any type of hassle or commitment, so that you can make an informed decision in your time frame. I can assure you that your car shopping experience will be quick, simple and hassle free.”

Under Hal’s leadership, a beautiful new state-of-the-art facility was built in 2009. They offer new and used Honda vehicles for sale, including Accords, Civics and Elements, as well as all major tire brands for any make or model of vehicle. “All of our tires come with a road hazard warranty and free rotations for the life of the tire,” says Eric.

The service department works on all makes and models of vehicles, from minor maintenance to major repairs. They are also an approved Honda NGV (natural gas vehicle) service facility.

If you need an oil change or any other maintenance, simply pull up to the Quick Service Lane and a friendly employee will assist with a smile. The outstanding parts and service team includes service advisors David Hughbanks, Mark Koble and Matt Baxter, and parts advisors Mark Barnett and Tim Williams.

Each vehicle receives a free multipoint inspection, including a check of belts, fluids, hoses, breaks and more, as well as a free battery charge inspection. They wash and vacuum every vehicle that comes in for service, whether it is for an oil change, tire rotation, or major repair. “Our prices are extremely competitive,” adds Eric. Extended service hours are Monday through Friday from7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Honda of Bartlesville also offers new owner clinics, and it is not necessary to have purchased your Honda there to attend. “We place each Honda model on a lift and show you the car from front to rear, including the brakes, underside of the motor, transmission and more. This helps you get familiar with all aspects of your new Honda,” says Eric. For details about upcoming new owner clinics, call (918) 333-3333.

Eric Anderson got his start in the automotive industry in 1988 after serving with the U.S. Marines Corps. With 23 years in the business, Eric knows what customers want. “I really enjoy helping people. When customers purchase a vehicle or have service done, they want a no-hassle experience and employees that will be honest with them. That’s what we do at Honda of Bartlesville. Our philosophy is, ‘If you take care of the customers, everything else will take care of itself.’”

The drive from Owasso to Bartlesville is a quick and easy one. “Everyone’s time is valuable these days, so it’s more about minutes than miles for many people. It’s easier to get to Bartlesville of Honda than many places in Tulsa because of traffic,” says Eric. “You’ll also get the satisfying feel of a small-town dealership with big-town service. We strive to build a rapport with our customers and cater to them however we can.”
